Early Childhood Education Scholarship for Students from Long Island

Established by Linda Pons ’62 to help students from Long Island, N.Y., who plan to become elementary school teachers, benefit from an education at SUNY Cortland.

Awarded to a student who

  • is an entering freshman student
  • permanently resides on Long Island
  • has been accepted to major in childhood or early childhood education
  • has demonstrated financial need by way of filing a FAFSA

May be renewable. Renewals are dependent on available funding as provided by the Cortland College Foundation. Continued funding is based on student maintaining a 2.7 cumulative grade point average, remaining a childhood or early childhood educationmajor, and continuing to show need.
