Donald S. Ames and Diane Ames Scholarship

The Donald S. Ames and Diane Ames Scholarship was established by their daughters, Johanna Ames and Tanya Ames, in honor of their parents. The Ames family has a long-standing commitment to the Cortland community and SUNY Cortland. It will be awarded to Cortland County high school graduates as first priority. Recipients must have satisfactory academic achievement and financial need as a preference. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.

Selection Criteria

  • awarded to a matriculated sophomore, junior or senior level student in good academic standing at SUNY Cortland
  • is a graduate of a high school in New York State
  • enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)

Preference

  • is given to graduates of a Cortland County high school (Cortland, Homer, Marathon, McGraw, Cincinnatus)
  • is given to students with demonstrated financial need per FAFSA

Renewal Information

  • This scholarship is a one-time award and is non-renewable

Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
