Dr. Peter Jeffers Scholarship - Chemistry Department

Dr. Peter Jeffers taught chemistry at SUNY Cortland for 40 years. Due to his inspiration, encouragement and leadership, many alumni have forged successful careers in the field. This scholarship fund was created by some of his former students in his honor. The Dr. Peter Jeffers Scholarship shall be awarded to an outstanding students majoring in Chemistry at SUNY Cortland. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.

Selection Criteria

• awarded to a matriculated sophomore, junior or senior level student in good academic standing at SUNY Cortland
• is majoring in chemistry
• has a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average.
• enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)
• student must have at least one full academic year remaining at the start of the fall semester of award year

Renewal Information

• This scholarship is a one-time award and is non-renewable

Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
