John Forsythe '58, M '65 Scholarship

The John Forsythe ‘58, M ’65 Scholarship was established in his memory, by his wife Barbara, in honor of the education he received at SUNY Cortland. John spent his career as an educator and he had a love for the outdoors including Raquette Lake, where the Carpenter’s Shop was also named in his honor. Recipients of this scholarship will be students pursuing any major at SUNY Cortland with satisfactory academic achievement. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.

Selection Criteria

  • Awarded to a matriculated sophomore, junior, or senior level student in good academic standing at SUNY Cortland
  • Enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)
  • Recipient(s) must have satisfactory academic achievement.
  • Student must have at least one full academic year remaining at the start of the fall semester of award year

  • The scholarship is not automatically renewable. Students must apply each year.

    Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
