Frances Cheney Scholarship
Established by Louise M. Conley. This scholarship was created to recognize in perpetuity the educational administration accomplishments and values of academic excellence promoted by Francis J. Cheney, distinguished second principal of the Cortland Normal School and Mrs. Conley’s grandfather.
Awarded to a student who
- is an entering freshman student
- has been accepted to major in an area of education
- has high academic achievement
- has demonstrated financial need by way of filing a FAFSA
May be renewable. Renewals are dependent on available funding as provided by the Cortland College Foundation. Continued funding is based on student maintaining a 2.7 cumulative grade point average, remaining an education major, and continuing to show need.
