Dr. Arnold '47 and Roberta Rist '46/47 Scholarship
The Arnold ’47 and Roberta Rist ’46/47 Scholarship was established through a gift from Dr. Arnold T. Rist ’47. Dr. Rist served the College for many years as a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. He is a member of the C-Club Hall of Fame and is also a Distinguished Alumnus. He established this scholarship to honor his wife and confirm his long term commitment to help worthy students with demonstrated financial need to secure a college education. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.
Selection Criteria
- awarded to a matriculated entering freshman level or transfer level student in good academic standing at SUNY Cortland
- is from the Newcomb, NY school district. If no Newcomb, NY students are available, secondary preference is for students from the Adirondack Park region or Rockland County, NY
- enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)
- student must have at least one full academic year remaining at the start of the fall semester of award year
- has demonstrated financial need per FAFSA
Renewal Information
- may be renewable, renewals are dependent on available funding as provided by the Cortland College Foundation
- matriculated at SUNY Cortland
- enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)
- maintain satisfactory academic progress per SUNY Cortland’s published Federal Good Academic Standing guidelines
- this scholarship is renewable for a maximum of four academic years (eight academic semesters, excluding summer semesters). Actual number of terms is based on Class Level (freshman, sophomore, etc) at time of initial award
Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
