Benham Family Scholarship
The Benham Family Scholarship was established by Jim and Jane Benham to honor their daughter, Lisa, and her career as a special education teacher. This scholarship will be awarded to students majoring in inclusive childhood education or inclusive early childhood education (Birth-Grade 2) with satisfactory academic achievement. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated financial need and whose goal is to become a special education teacher.
Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.
Selection Criteria
- For full time-matriculating students enrolled in inclusive childhood education or inclusive early childhood education (Birth-Grade 2).
- Recipients must have satisfactory academic achievement.
- Recipient(s) must be continuing students.
- Recipient(s) must be enrolled full-time (at least twelve 12) credit hours each fall and spring semester).
- Recipient(s) must have at least one full academic year remaining at the start of the fall semester of award year.
Preference - Recipient(s) have demonstrated financial need per FAFSA.
- Students whose goal is to become a special education teacher.
Renewal Information - The scholarship is non-renewable. Students must apply each year.
