Pam Fisher Proehl '82 and Gerry Proehl '81 Scholarship in Healthcare Management
The Pam Fisher Proehl ’82 and Gerry Proehl ’81 Scholarship in Healthcare Management was created as one of the first scholarships established for the major. Pam and Gerry met at SUNY Cortland and majored in Physical Education. Following college, Pam enjoyed her career as an educator in Kansas, New Jersey and California. Gerry continues a successful career in pharmaceuticals, and serves as Chairman, President, and CEO of Dermata Therapeutics, Inc., a biotechnology company focused on making advancements in helping dermatologists treat serious diseases. Awards will be made annually to healthcare management majors with a preference for demonstrated financial need. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.
Criteria
- For full time-matriculating students enrolled in the Healthcare Management major.
- Recipient(s) must be a sophomore, junior or senior.
- Recipient(s) must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester).
- The scholarship is renewable and will follow the same student for the duration of their studies at SUNY Cortland, as long as they continue to meet the criteria.
Preference: - Demonstrated financial need.
Renewal Information - This is renewable and will follow the same student as long as they continue to meet the criteria.
Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
