Robert C. Brauer Memorial Scholarship
Established through a bequest from Elsie C. Brauer in memory of her son who was a SUNY Cortland Geology student. This scholarship is for academically outstanding and financially needy students majoring in Geology or other natural sciences. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.
Selection Criteria
- awarded to a matriculated sophomore, junior or senior level student in good academic standing at SUNY Cortland
- majoring in one of the natural sciences (geology, biology, chemistry, physics)
- enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)
- student must have at least one full academic year remaining at the start of the fall semester of award year
- has demonstrated financial need per FAFSA
Preference
- first preference is given to students enrolled in a major within the Geology Department.
- second preference is given to students enrolled in a minor within the Geology Department.
Renewal Information
- This scholarship is non-renewable. All students and past recipients are eligible to apply each year.
Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
