Sally Yaeger Wallace '53 Scholarship

Established by Robert Wallace ‘53 to honor the memory of his wife, Sally, an exceptional physical educator and a pioneer for women’s intercollegiate athletics at SUNY Cortland. Sally’s engaging personality, enduring spirit and consummate professionalism touched many lives and helped a generation of SUNY Cortland students to achieve fulfilling careers. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.

Selection Criteria

  • awarded to a matriculated junior or senior level student in good academic standing at SUNY Cortland
  • is majoring in physical education
  • has a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average
  • demonstrates the qualities that made Sally Yaeger Wallace ’53 a fabulous teacher and coach – commitment, involvement, empathy, integrity and the desire to make a difference in the lives of students
  • enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)
  • student must have at least one full academic year remaining at the start of the fall semester of award year
  • has demonstrated financial need per FAFSA

Renewal Information

  • This scholarship is a one-time award and is non-renewable

Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
