Donna Still Franco '73, M '76 and Raymond D. Franco '72, M '75 Scholarship

The Donna Still Franco ’73, M ’76 and Raymond D. Franco ’72, M ’75 Scholarship was created by Donna and Raymond because their lifelong relationship with their alma mater enriched their lives and the lives of their family. Raymond had a 40-year career at the College and Donna, a longtime area teacher, served the College tirelessly as his partner. Both continue to be loyal alumni of the College. Recipients will be sophomores, juniors or seniors who have been engaged in volunteer and community service. Preference will be given to those who serve the campus and/or greater Cortland community. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.

Selection Criteria

  • Awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior student(s) in any major
  • Recipient(s) must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester).
  • Recipient(s) must have a minimum 2.50 cumulative grade-point average.
  • Each scholarship will be approximately $1,000 and will be directed to offset the cost of attendance at SUNY Cortland.
  • Recipient(s) must demonstrate volunteerism and service that serves to improve the lives of others on campus or in the greater Cortland community. A supplemental essay will be required to document such service.

    Preference
  • Preference given to students who have been engaged in volunteer and community service on campus and/or in the greater Cortland community.

    Renewal Information
  • The scholarship is non-renewable and is awarded for one year. Students are eligible to apply each year.
