Robert S. Bookman Esq. '76 Student Government Association Scholarship
The Robert S. Bookman Esq. ’76 Student Government Association Scholarship was established by Mr. Bookman, a passionate New York City attorney who has served as an advocate for the hospitality industry for over 35 years. A nationally recognized expert on nightlife business and organizational issues, Mr. Bookman was involved in many extracurricular activities as a student, including Student Government Association (SGA), the radio station (WSUC) and Jewish Student Alliance. His scholarship will recognize students who demonstrate campus involvement by participating in SGA, with a 3.0 minimum grade-point average. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.
Selection Criteria
- awarded to a matriculated continuing undergraduate student at the sophomore, junior, or senior level in good academic standing at SUNY Cortland.
- has a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average
- enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester) in any major.
- award will be approximately $1,000 and will be directed to offset the cost of attendance at SUNY Cortland.
- candidate(s) must have demonstrated campus involvement through the Student Government Association (SGA). Recipients must be either an elected or an appointed officer of SGA.
Renewal Information
Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
