Dr. Ram P. Chaturvedi & Mrs. Saroj K. Chaturvedi M '72 Scholarship for Math and Science

The Dr. Ram P. Chaturvedi and Saroj K. Chaturvedi M ‘72 Scholarship was established by gifts from family and friends to honor the life and career of Dr. Chaturvedi, a Distinguished Service Professor who was a member of the SUNY Cortland Physics Department for 40 years, and to recognize the contributions of Mrs. Saroj K. Chaturvedi, who received her Master’s Degree in Education from SUNY Cortland, and was an active member of the Cortland Faculty Wives and the College community. This scholarship will recognize a student majoring in math, biology, chemistry or physics with high academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. Dr. and Mrs. Chaturvedi placed a high value in pursuing education and this scholarship demonstrates their commitment to deserving students in achieving their highest potential. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.

Selection Criteria

• awarded to a matriculated sophomore, junior or senior level student in good academic standing at SUNY Cortland
• has a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
• enrolled in a math, biology, chemistry or physics major
• enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)
• student must have at least one full academic year remaining at the start of the fall semester of award year
• has demonstrated financial need per FAFSA

Renewal Information

• This scholarship is a one-time award and is non-renewable

Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
