The Robert F. Riedel '52 and Arthur J. Riedel '54 Scholarship

The Robert F. Riedel ’52 and Arthur J. Riedel ’54 Scholarship was established by the children of Robert Riedel in honor of his 90th birthday. Robert and his brother, Arthur, were first generation college students. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.

Selection Criteria

  • Awarded to a matriculated Sophomore, junior or senior level student in good academic standing at SUNY Cortland
  • Recipients must be first generation college students as defined by being the first in their family to graduate college. If no first generation students apply, then second generation students will be considered.
  • Recipient(s) must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)
  • Recipient(s) must have at least one full academic year remaining at the start of the fall semester of award year
  • Recipients must have demonstrated financial need per FAFSA.
  • Scholarship amount will be approximately $1,000 and will be directed to offset the cost of attendance for one year.

*Renewability

  • The scholarship is awarded for one year and students are eligible to apply each year.

Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
