Dr. Peter T. Kachris '56 Scholarship

The Dr. Peter T. Kachris ‘56 Scholarship was established by Peter Kachris to assist students at SUNY Cortland. As a life-long educator and ‘change agent’, Dr. Kachris worked in various educational administration settings throughout his career to improve the quality of education that is delivered to our younger generations. Recipients must be physical education or history majors with satisfactory academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.

Selection Criteria

• awarded to a matriculated undergraduate level student in good academic standing at SUNY Cortland
• Candidates must be physical education or history majors.
• Candidate(s) must have satisfactory academic achievement
• Candidate(s) must have demonstrated financial need with completion of FAFSA.
• must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)
• student must have at least one full academic year remaining at the start of the fall semester of award year
