William F. Pittorino '85 Humanitarian Memorial Scholarship
Established by Deborah Pittorino in memory of her husband, Bill. “Billy” will be forever remembered as a caring and compassionate alumnus of SUNY Cortland who put others first. He built life-long friendships with his classmates and teammates because of his years spent as an undergraduate student. Billy was known as the kindest man who will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate to call him friend. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.
Selection Criteria
- awarded to a matriculated undergraduate at the sophomore, junior, or senior level in good academic standing at SUNY Cortland
- is majoring in Physical Education
- has demonstrated volunteer service
- enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)
- student must have at least one full academic year remaining at the start of the fall semester of award year
- has demonstrated financial need per FAFSA
Renewal Criteria
The scholarship is non-renewable and is awarded for one year. Students are eligible to apply each year.
