Jay Cummings Program Fund for Field Biology
Established through many gifts from SUNY Cortland’s alumni, emeriti, faculty, staff and friends in recognition of Jay Cummings many years of outstanding service as assistant director of SUNY Cortland’s Outdoor Education Center at Raquette Lake. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.
Selection Criteria
- awarded to a matriculated sophomore, junior or senior level student in good academic standing at SUNY Cortland
- plans to enroll in SUNY Cortland field biology courses
- is currently in Biology 310 and/or 510
- enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)
- student must have at least one full academic year remaining at the start of the fall semester of award year
- has demonstrated financial need per FAFSA
Preference
- is given to students with the higher grade point averages in biology coursework
Renewal Information
- This scholarship is a one-time award and is non-renewable
Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
