Dr. Gail F. Maloney ’72 Scholarship
The Dr. Gail F. Maloney ’72 Scholarship was created by Gail to honor the education she received while a student at SUNY Cortland. As an undergraduate, she was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority and softball program. Gail enjoyed a very successful professional career spanning 37 years that included teaching as well as coaching both high school and college students. She also served as the Associate Director of Athletics at Buffalo State College for 31 years. Gail is an inducted member of the Cortland C-Club, Buffalo State Athletics and Greater Buffalo Sports Halls of Fame. She credits her professional accomplishments directly to the experiences and education she received at Cortland. This scholarship will be awarded to physical education majors with satisfactory academic achievement. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.
Selection Criteria
- For full-time matriculating students majoring in physical education.
- Recipient(s) must be a sophomore, junior or senior level student with satisfactory academic achievement.
- Recipient(s) must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester).
Renewal Information - This scholarship is non-renewable. Students must apply each year.
Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
