AmeriCorps School of Service Award

SUNY Cortland is proud to join this SUNY-wide initiative to assist students who have served in AmeriCorps.
Prospective students who have worked through the national service program may be eligible for the following benefits, in addition to the federally funded program’s AmeriCorps Educational Award:

  • One of two $1,000 institutional scholarships
  • Priority admission at SUNY Cortland
  • A one-year enrollment deferral

    Selection Criteria
  • For full time-matriculating students enrolled in any major.
  • Recipient(s) must be in good academic standing.
  • enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)
  • Applicants must provide a copy of their AmeriCorps Certification of Service Letter

    Renewability
  • The scholarship is renewable and will follow the same student for the duration of studies while at SUNY Cortland as long as the student continues to meet the criteria.
