Rear Admiral John “Jack” C. Scorby ’81 Scholarship
The Rear Admiral John “Jack” C. Scorby ’81 Scholarship was established by Donald J. Butcher ’81, to recognize and honor his friend Jack Scorby ’81. A Distinguished Alumnus who served 35 years in the United States Navy, Scorby never stopped seeking new challenges and distinguished himself in the U.S. Navy through leadership, integrity and dedication. This scholarship will be awarded to students enrolled in any major with satisfactory academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.
Selection Criteria
- For full-time matriculating students enrolled in any major.
- Recipient(s) can be any class year with satisfactory academic achievement.
- Recipient(s) must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester).
- Recipient(s) must have demonstrated financial need per FAFSA.
Renewal Information
- This scholarship is renewable and may follow the same student as long as the student continues to meet the criteria.
Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
