John A. "Jack" Garrity '81, Esq. Scholarship
The John A. “Jack” Garrity ’81, Esq. Scholarship was established by Jack to support students within the political science department at SUNY Cortland. Jack practiced as an attorney for nearly 20 years and later became an entrepreneur with his most notable business venture being the development and marketing of the InjectSafe Barrier Bandage in 2017. This scholarship will be awarded to continuing students enrolled in any major within the political science department with satisfactory academic achievement and a preference for demonstrated financial need. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.
Selection Criteria
- For full-time matriculating students enrolled in any major within the political science department.
- Recipient(s) must be a sophomore, junior, or senior student.
- Recipient(s) must have satisfactory academic achievement.
- Recipient(s) must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester)
Preference
- Demonstrated financial need per FAFSA
Renewal information
- This scholarship is non-renewable. Students must apply each year.
Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
