Judith Fleming Barcik '61 Scholarship
The Judith Fleming Barcik ’61 Scholarship was established in memory of Judith (Judy) by her husband Donald Barcik. Judy worked for many years as a third-grade teacher and this scholarship honors her passion for both SUNY Cortland and childhood education. Awards will be made annually to students majoring in early childhood and childhood education. Recipients must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and a preference for demonstrated financial need. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.
Selection Criteria
- For full time-matriculating students majoring in early childhood and childhood education.
- Recipient(s) must be a sophomore, junior, or senior level student with a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average.
- Recipient(s) must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester).
Preference
- Demonstrated financial need per FAFSA
Renewability
- The scholarship is non-renewable. Students must apply each year.
Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
