W. Graham Heaslip Award for Research Excellence

Established in memory of W. Maxwell Hawkins who arrived in 1963 and along with W. Graham Heaslip established “Geology” at Cortland, and guided and nurtured the development of the Geology program as well as its faculty and students until his retirement in 1991.

Selection Criteria

• For full-time matriculating undergraduate geology majors.
• Recipient(s) must be a junior level student.
• Recipients(s) must have minimum grade point average of 3.0 and the highest overall average within the geology major.
