M. Jean Maynard McAdam ’54 Scholarship
The M. Jean Maynard McAdam ’54 Scholarship was established by Jeanine McAdam to honor her mother, Jean who devoted her life to physical education, with a commitment to inclusive practices that ensured all students had the opportunity to be active. After retiring, Jean continued her dedication to service by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and Buddy Break. This scholarship will support students who share her passion for inclusive education and service and be awarded to those studying inclusive education (Birth – grade 6), with satisfactory academic achievement and a preference for demonstrated financial need. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.
Selection Criteria
- For full-time matriculating student(s) enrolled in Inclusive Childhood Education major (Grade 1-6) and Inclusive Early Childhood Education major (Birth-2).
- Recipient(s) must be a sophomore, junior or senior level student.
- Recipient(s) must have satisfactory academic achievement.
- Recipient(s) must demonstrate leadership and service to enhance the campus community.
Preference:
- Demonstrated financial need per FAFSA

*This scholarship is non-renewable. Students must apply each year.
Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
