Larry and Laurie Klotz Scholarship

The Larry and Laurie Klotz Scholarship was established by Larry and Laurie in recognition of more than 60 years of combined service to the SUNY Cortland campus community. Laurie served in Academic Computing Services until her retirement in 2011 and Distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus of Biological Sciences, Larry retired in 2015. The scholarship will support students in any major within the Biological Sciences Department with satisfactory academic achievement. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate an interest in protecting and sustaining the environment. Award will be split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Funding is based on availability.

Selection Criteria

  • For full-time matriculating student(s) enrolled in any major within the Biological Sciences Department.
  • Recipient(s) must be a continuing student.
  • Recipient(s) must have satisfactory academic achievement.

Preference

  • Demonstrated interest in protecting and sustaining the environment. Students will answer a short question describing their commitment to the environment.

Renewal information

  • This scholarship is non-renewable. Students must apply each year.

Scholarship funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
