Myrl Rose Crocker Howe McGraw Scholarship

Established by Robert C. Howe to benefit promising students who graduated from McGraw or a Cortland county high school. Students majoring in a program that will lead to a career as an elementary school educator and require financial aid are first priority.

Selection Criteria

  • awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior level student in good academic standing at SUNY Cortland
  • is majoring in Childhood Education
  • has a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average
  • is a graduate of McGraw high school or a Cortland county high school
  • has demonstrated leadership and involvement in campus life
  • has demonstrated financial need by way of filing a FAFSA

Preference
is given in the following priority

  • student graduates from Cortland County
  • student graduates from upstate NY, counties including: Tompkins, Brome, Onondaga,
    Chenango, Cayuga, Madison, St. Lawrence, Clinton, Herkimer, Otsego, Oneida
  • student graduates from any county in New York State
  • has demonstrated financial need by way of filing a FAFSA

Renewal Information

  • may be renewable, renewals are dependent on available funding as provided by the Cortland College Foundation
  • is majoring in Childhood Education
  • has a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average
  • maintain satisfactory academic progress per SUNY Cortland’s published Federal Good Academic Standing guidelines

Funding is determined by the Cortland College Foundation. Scholarship amounts and availability are subject to change.
